Brenda was born May 28, 1955, in Pittsburg, Texas to the parentage of the late Hubert and Erma Dean Jefferson.
She attended school in the Pittsburg Independent School District and was a proud member of the 1973 graduating class. She also attended Texas College in Tyler, Texas.
At an early age she gave her life to Christ and became a member of St. Beulah C.M.E. Church, Pittsburg, Texas, where she sang in the choir. Later she moved membership to Greater Bibleway in Mt. Pleasant, Texas under the leadership of Pastor Bertrand Bailey, Jr.
On January 29, 2006, she united in holy matrimony to Mr. John T. Hillis. She departed life on April 13, 2023, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, Texas. She worked over forty years in the nursing and health field.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Erma Dean Jefferson, her son, Christopher Jefferson, Sr. and her brothers, Lee Andrew and Melvin Jefferson.
She leaves to mourn her passing her devoted husband, John T. Hillis of Mt. Pleasant, TX; son, Zemon Heath of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Kimberly Heath of Mt. Pleasant, TX; stepson, Lloyd Heath (Stacy) of Moore, OK; nine grandchildren; Shambria, Kasaya, Tiann, La’Zoderick, Zaquarian, Christopher Jr., Tydreaun, Timothy and Zac. Five great grandchildren, Nolan, Roman, Ezekial, Joshua and Zariah. Sisters, Wanda Cheathem (LC) of Pittsburg, TX; Yvonne Jefferson Maxie (Lonnie) of Dallas, TX; brothers, Hubert Leon Jefferson and Harold Jefferson both of Pittsburg, TX; daughter-in-law, and Stacey Taylor Jefferson of Waxahachie, TX. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
