Sister Della Mae Harkey was born July 5, 1943, to the parentage of Jack Harkey and Lillian White Harkey in Lubbock, Texas. When she lived in Pittsburg, Texas she was a member of Franklin Street Church of Christ. She graduated from Frederick Douglass High School, Pittsburg, Texas. After moving to Dallas, Texas, she became a member of Marsalis Avenue Church of Christ.
She loved being around her family and friends and doing past time hobbies. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Sister Harkey passed away Monday, May 6, 2024 at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, Texas. She leaves to mourn her passing two loving sons, Darwin Harkey and Eric Harkey of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Schwana Jones (Marcus) od Dallas, TX; and Christopher Duffy Sr. (LaCrystal) of Tyler, TX; five great grandchildren, Jeremiah Crittendon, Josiah Crittendon, Joshua Crittendon, Christopher Duffy, Jr., and Zaliya Doddy, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Lillian Harkey, one sister, Arma Jean, and four brothers, Travis White, Deotha Palmer, Henry White, and Calvin Brown, Sr.
