We celebrate the remarkable life of Earnestine Traylor Neal, born to Bruce Traylor & Luella Lawton on April 26, 1928, in Pittsburg, Texas. Affectionately known as "Mu," "Pet," and "Madea," Earnestine was educated in the public school system and later became a devoted housewife.
In 1945, she entered into a lifelong partnership with Ellington Romeo Neal Jr., creating a legacy that lasted 55 years. Together, they profoundly impacted their two children (including the adoption of Vickie Lawton) and all who were touched by their enduring love. Until the passing of Ellington Romeo Neal Jr. in the year 2000.
Earnestine's nurturing spirit and unwavering commitment to family formed the cornerstone of her character. As a mother, she instilled values of resilience and kindness, shaping the lives of her children and future generations.
Earnestine's life unfolded against a changing world, navigating with grace and adaptability. Her love for cards, dominoes, hosting game nights, and passion for slot machines showcased her vibrant spirit.
A pillar of strength in her community, Earnestine's kindness extended to friends and neighbors, creating a haven of love, laughter, and welcoming spirit.
She accepted Christ at St. Beulah C.M.E Church in Pittsburg, Texas, under. After relocating to Houston, TX, with her son Ellington and wife Juanita Neal. In 2010 her son retired and he moved his mother to Henderson, Nevada with him to be her caregiver for the 13 years.
Earnestine fell asleep peacefully on January 21, 2024, in the presence of her loving family. As we say our farewells, let's not mourn the passing of a century but celebrate the enduring legacy she leaves behind. May her memory inspire us, reminding us of the beauty in a well-lived life and the impact one person can make.
She leaves to cherish 5 generations her memories of a son & daughter-In Law Ellington Roscoe & Juanita Neal. One grandchild Roschelle ‘LeTrice’ & (husband)Tamus Rumley. Four great – grandchildren, Brandz Anderson, Brandy & Shaunte Anderson, Briana Anderson, and Brendan Allen-Anderson. Six great- great grandchildren, Tamia Anderson, Tee’Unna Anderson, Elliyah Anderson, Brooklyn Anderson, Miamor &, Kimoree Allen-Anderson, cousins Claudette Hamilton(Tucson,AZ), John Cook(Oakland,CA), Rochelle Hill (Pittsburg,TX), Paulette Shaffer(Dallas,TX), Freddie Johnson(Pittsburg,Tx,), Sherita Sanders(Los Angeles,CA), Catherine R. Hall(San Bernardino,CA) Ruthy J. Smith (Henney Penney), and a host of other family and friends.
