Edward Charles Hopkins was born March 3, 1963 to the parentage of John Hopkins, Jr. and Mary Lene Davis Hopkins in Gilmer, Texas. He was a graduate of Gilmer High School, Gilmer, Texas and was a member of St. Merner Baptist Church in the Pine Community.
He married Kathy Davis and was blessed to enjoy each other’s company. He passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2026, in Pittsburg, Texas. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Kathy Davis Hopkins of Gilmer, TX; one son, Jeramine DeWane Adams of Pittsburg, TX; one grandson, Jevonte Grigsby; four sisters, Clara Blaylock of Tyler, TX; Lois Stoker (Clarence) of Longview, TX; Thelma Denmark of Lantana, TX; and Francie Webb (Travis) of Gilmer, TX; four brothers, John Hopkins (Vera), Quintin Hopkins, Cedric Hopkins, and Henry Hopkins (Yolanda), all of Pittsburg, TX; one aunt, Oma Kay Keel (Raymond) of Mesquite, TX; one uncle, Samuel Davis (Debbie) of Pittsburg, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
He is preceded in death by both parents, John Hopkins, Jr. (July 11, 1981) and Mary Lene Hopkins (January 2, 2020; maternal grandparents, Albert Davis (July 2, 1963) and Idella Davis (1938); step grandmother, Vadie Davis (March 25, 2000); paternal grandparents, John Hopkins and Ida Moss; one niece Freshia Hopkins (2019) and one great niece, Ashlyn Allen (September 12, 2004).
