James Walter Rhymes answered the Master’s call on Friday, January 3, 2025. He was born on September 27, 1946 in Pittsburg, Texas to the parentage of Walter Rhymes and Jessie Mae Anderson-Rhymes. He graduated from Frederick Douglass High School and was a member of Living Green Baptist Church in Pittsburg, Texas. His favorite hobby was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. James is preceded in death by his daughter, Lateceshia Rhymes; son, James Rhymes, Jr.; parents, Walter and Jessie Mae Rhymes; and sister, Jessie D. White. He leaves to cherish his memories: a special friend, Bertha Wesley of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Regina Rhymes and Angela Rhymes, both of Los Angeles, California; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters: Marjorie Rhymes of Victorville, California, and Thereasa Dean and Diane Hurdon, both of Pittsburg, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
