Mr. Jerry Kennedy, Sr. was born on April 14, 1948, in Pittsburg, Texas, to the loving parentage of Vodella and Grafton Kennedy. He received his early education at Fredrick Douglass School in Pittsburg, Texas, where he began forming lifelong friendships and a strong work ethic.
Jerry was a devoted and hardworking man. For many years he was employed by the City of Houston, where he built a reputation for his dedication and reliability. Later, he returned to his hometown of Pittsburg and continued his service to others as an employee at UT Health Hospital until his health began to fail. Through each season of his life, Jerry was known for his willingness to help, his warm smile, and his quiet strength.
He was a faithful member of Franklin Street Church of Christ in Pittsburg, Texas, where he enjoyed worshipping, fellowshipping, and growing in his walk with the Lord. Jerry loved fishing and found joy and peace on the water. He delighted in cooking the fish he caught for his family, creating moments of laughter and fellowship around the table. He was also a proud Texan fan, loved to travel, and enjoyed sharing new experiences with those close to him. More than anything, Jerry cherished time spent with family and friends.
