Joey Earl Searcy II, known as Tank to many, was born April 27, 1991, in Dallas, Texas to Mary Jane Searcy and the late Danny Ray Elliott.
Joey's journey began in the Dallas area, but his childhood roots were deep in Pittsburg, Texas, where he was surrounded by family and gained a Christian faith at North Chapel CME Church. Joey's outstanding high school football achievements at South Grand Prairie High School earned him a scholarship to Navarro College. He completed an associate degree in Kinesiology and went on to pursue further education at Baylor University and San Angelo State University.
Joey's exceptional talent and drive propelled him to achieve greatness in minor league and arena football. Following his football career, Joey discovered a new passion for tattoo artistry and entered the security field, protecting high-profile celebrities.
Joey’s warm love and memory will live on through his mother, Mary Jane Searcy Veal and stepdad, LaCress; children, Kimmian, Shaelyn, Jeremiah, Zemirah, Chloi and Zoli; sisters, Taneesha Coleman and Lakerria Rodgers; brothers, Labrail Connelly, Danny Elliott Jr., Dominic (Chloe), Tobaris Hooks, JaiTarian (Alyssa) Rockwell; Grandparents, Robert and Odell Searcy and Lilly Pearl Luster; Aunts, Robbie Whetstone, Kimberly (Joseph) Landing, Patricia (Johnny) Brooks, Sheila (Harold) Lewis; Uncles, Kenneth Paul Searcy, Darrell Whetstone, Joey (Sherry) Luster, Ralston (Rocha) Luster, Quitman Luster and James Sheppard; special cousins, Brandon Strogen and Lekayla Armour. Many family members and friends will miss his earthly presence.
Joey was preceded in death by his father Danny, sister Kristin Hill, grandfathers Billy Vaughn Elliott and Jody B. Luster, and uncles Joey Earl Searcy and Tilford Sheppard.
