Loice "MaryAnn" Carlock Hughes-Grant was born on June 27, 1952, to Eloise Carlock. She was blessed to be parented by Herman and Millissa Hughes. She attended Douglas High School in Pittsburg, TX. Loice worked diligently and received her GED in 1994. This was a major accomplishment of tenacity and discipline. She furthered her education by attending Northeast Texas Community College Mt. Pleasant, TX and published a poem in best writing NTCC Catalog.
She was a faithful member of Metropolitan Baptist Church Pittsburg, TX where she served as an Announcement Clerk, Vice President of the Missionary Board and Bible Study. She was the Vice President of the Usher Board and was a member of Sister-to Sister Ministries, Adult Choir and played the tambourine. She loved to sing for the Lord. She found joy performing in church plays, programs and wherever needed. She was a faithful servant to her Lord and loved her church family.
She enjoyed assisting the sick and visiting the Nursing Homes. She loved her children, grandchildren, family and friends with all her Heart & Soul. She exemplified being a Titus Woman by nurturing her family and having her granddaughters sing for the sick. Mother prayed for everyone in the world.
Mary Ann leaves to cherish her memories: son, Gerald Hughes (Lisa); daughters, Tameka Gordon (Alton) and LaTunia Hughes; grandchildren: Altaneysha, Jyazhia, Shanillah, Jakevian, Sereniti, Kennedy, Aminah, Triniti, Alayah and Sophia; Sisters: Joann (Terry), Grace Ann, Patricia and Aline. Brother: J.C. Mitchell; niece: Pat Lewis and a host of great Nieces, Nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceded her in death: brothers; George (Bubba) Carter and Larry Wynne; grandson D'Marlon Johnson. She loved the Lord, and she loved her children, grandchildren and family with all her heart and soul.
She loved her friends and will see you at the Heavenly Grand Reunion.
