Mavis Waters, Jr.

Mr. Mavis Waters, Jr.  was born September 12, 1958 to the parentage of the now late Mr. Mavis Waters, Sr. and Mrs. Eula Mae Hollins Waters in Gilmer, Texas.

He graduated from Gilmer High School (Buckeyes) in 1976. At an early age, he joined Friendship Baptist Church of Gilmer, Texas and accepted Christ as his personal Savior.

His employment was with Dean Lumber Company and CSI Coil Company of Gilmer, Texas. In his spare time, he did lawn care services for many friends and neighbors in the Gilmer and surrounding areas.

Mr. Waters, Jr. passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023, at the Pines Nursing and Rehab Nursing Home in Longview, Texas. He leaves to cherish his memories four brothers, Johnny Waters and wife, Ora, of Austin, TX; Andrew Lee Waters and wife, Teleda, of Gilmer, TX; Russell Waters of Gilmer, TX; Harvey Waters of Gilmer, TX; two sisters, Tonie Marie Waters of Arlington, TX; Paulette Turner and husband, Freddie, of Gilmer, TX; two aunts, Gertha L. Arterberry and husband, Robert, of Dallas, TX; Carrie Mae Waters of Houston, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bobby Lee Waters, and Kenneth Earl Waters.
