Morris Peoples was born August 2, 1938, in Pittsburg, Texas to the parentage of Theodore and Earnestine (Johnson) Peoples.
Morris grew up in the Hickory Hill community amongst family and friends. He had the opportunity to travel state to state singing with a band in his younger days. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, and spending time with his family.
Morris was a valued employee to Pilgrim’s Pride Feed for forty-five years as a Hammer Mill Operator until retiring.
Morris attended school at Hickory Hill, Living Green, and later went to Frederick Douglas.
Morris married the love of his life, Patricia Irvin on October 30, 1974, and cherished a union of 49 years.
Morris was a member of Living Green Baptist Church. Later in life he began attending Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church.He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Earnestine Peoples; son, Morris Peoples, Jr; grandson, Morris Peoples III; three sisters, Oreva Cummings, Vivian Rodgers and Geraldine Sadberry; two brothers, Sammy Peoples and Willie J. Peoples.
Morris leaves to cherish his most precious memories: a loving wife of forty-nine years, Patricia Peoples. His daughters, Yolanda Peoples (Barry) of Gilmer, Tikishea (Donald) Butler of Leesburg, Angela Peoples of California, and Celeste Peoples of Chicago. His sons, Marlon (Renita) Peoples of Pittsburg, Barry (Lynette) King of Arizona. His sisters, Mary Bennette of Pittsburg, Marthel Modkins of Dallas, and Myrtis Peoples of Fort Worth. His sisters-in-law, Annie Irvin, Shirely (Tyrone) Fluellen, Bettie (Jewell) Irvin, Cordelia Irvin, Nadine (Rone) Gibbons, and Annie Grisby. His brothers-in-law Arthur(Dorothy) Beard, Odiel (Bobbie) Beard, James Irvin, Fred (Tia) Irvin. He is survived by thirteen precious grandchildren of which three he raised (Jada, Ke’Marie, Marlon Jr.); seven adorable great grandchildren, and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. His great granddaughter, A’miri Traylor was his partner in crime.
