Mr. Raymond Turner Sr. was born August 26th, 1950, inPittsburg, Texas, in the Rocky Mound Community, to Harris and Ella Turner.  Raymond joined Rocky Mound CME church at an early age, and he remained a devoted member until his health failed him. He loved the Lord.

He began his education at Fredrick Douglas School and graduated in 1968. He later joined the United States Navy, where he served bravely until he was honorably discharged. Raymond would go on to drive trucks until he was wounded on the job. He remained a devoted father to his children and married his devoted wife Peggy Chinn on July 19, 2001. To this union one son was born.

Raymond had a big, quiet personality. He loved the Cowboys, and he would talk about the games, win or lose, for days. His humor, stories, and presence filled the lives ofthose he loved.
