Rickey Duffey Sr. Obituary

Born August 12th,1964 in Gilmer Tx to Nathaniel & Ruby Duffey. Rickey Duffey (60) passed away Sunday May 4th at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler Tx with his loving family near his bedside. He attended Pittsburg High School class of 1984. Rickey grew up as a faithful member of Mt Lebanon CME church and later as an adult became a lifelong member of Faith Building Ministries.

His personal interests have always been farming. He started as a young boy with his father and mother and continued working and running the family business alongside his sisters and brothers. As a final act Rickey and son Rickey Jr planted a field of watermelon & peas. Leaving behind a legacy. He was proud & joyful telling everyone how good the produce was already looking for this season.

Rickey was a devoted father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He had a protective spirit and would do anything possible for his loved ones. Rickey is survived by his two sons Rickey Jr and Demarcus Harris (Valerie), one daughter Shanequa Harris, five brothers Robert Duffey, Gregory Duffey (Marsha), Lee Duffey, Donnie Duffey (Patricia), and Randolph Duffey, and his five sisters Marshall Butler, Opreal Turner, Ruby S Duffey, Cathleen Hart, and Phyllis Johnson (Gary). Rickey is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces nephews cousins other relatives & friends.

Rickey is preceded in death by his mother and father Nathaniel and Ruby Duffey, the mother of his children Ruby Harris, 3 brothers Billy Clyde Duffey, JD Duffey and Joe Duffey, 3 sisters Linda Wilmore, Claudine Hunter, and Laura Jordan, his eldest son Richard Harris and one grandson Gavin Duffey.
