Rodrick Jerone Watson was born July 11, 1974, in Dallas, Texas to the parents of Ronald Watson and Patricia Burdine-Watson. At an early age he joined St. Stephens CME in Pittsburg, Texas and later moved his membership to Greater Bibleway in Mt. Pleasant. He began his education in the Dallas ISD and was a member of Pittsburg High School Class of 1993, where he was active in all sports.
On June 26, 1998, Rodrick was involved in a devastating car accident that would leave him unable to walk again. In the last 25 years he was blessed to see his children grow up, Graduate from high school, and on to starting the next chapters of their lives. He loved each of them unconditionally and was a very proud dad and pawpaw.
He was proceeded in death by his father Ronald Watson, brother Henry Lewis, uncle Don Edwards, an both maternal and paternal grandparents.
Rodrick departed this life on April 26, 2024 in Tyler, Texas. He leaves to cherish his memories: mother Patricia Watson of Pittsburg, Tx; three sons and a daughter Radarrius (Antwonette) Watson of Benton, Ark.; Denasia Watson of Garrison, Tx.; Ja’Terian Watson of Houston, Tx., and Kendrick Smith of Desoto, Tx.; two grandsons, Rylan and Rayden Watson of Benton, Ark.; three sisters, Rhonda Watson, Stephanie Fields, and Valerie Johnson, two brothers, Henry Johnson Jr., and James Johnson, an aunt Deborah Alexander, three uncles, Reginald Watson, Rodrick Watson, and Paul Watson all of Dallas, Tx.; bonus mom LaVern Watson of Dallas, Tx.; bonus dad Richard Grant of Mt. Pleasant, Tx.; a special friend Lisa Lewis, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
