Tonjia Juansia Obituary

Tonjia Juansia Mitchell was born on September 25, 1965, to the parentage of Glenda Marie Davis and Donald Ray Mitchell. At an early age, Tonjia united with Pine Bluff Baptist Church in Pittsburg, Texas. Later in life, she moved her membership to Ervay Cedar Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, where she remained an active and faithful member.

Tonjia received her education from the Pittsburg Independent School District and was a proud graduate of Pittsburg High School, Class of 1984.

She furthered her education at Jarvis Christian College, graduating in 1989 with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. She was a devoted teacher for thirty plus years. The majority of those years were served in the Dallas Independent School District.

Tonjia is preceded in death by her father, Donald Ray Mitchell; her sister, Carla Barnette Johnson; her niece, La Trista Joyce Nickleberry; her grandparents, Sedalia Cummings, Ella Mae Heath, Oscar Davis, and Jimmie Mitchell, Sr.; her great-grandmother, Roberta Williams; and uncle James Mitchell and Jimmic Mitchell, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted loving son, Demarcus Mitchell of Dallas, Texas; her loving mother, Glenda Davis of Dallas, Texas; and her siblings, Gloria Johnson of Pittsburg, Texas, Michael Davis of Dallas, Texas, and LaCarroll (Tristan) Nickleberry of Naples, Texas. She also leaves one niece, Gerraneshia Johnson of Dallas, Texas; three nephews, Micheal Linwood of Dallas, Texas, Tristan Il, and Carter Nickleberry, both of Naples, Texas; six aunts, Carolyn (Alvin) Steele of Duncanville, Texas, Sandra Cummings of Dallas, Texas, Rita Williams of Pittsburg, Texas, Loyse (Roy) Henry of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Rosalind Davis of El Paso, Texas, and Demetrius Garrett of Lancaster, Texas; uncles, Larry (Diane) Cummings of DeSoto, Texas, L.C. Mitchell of Pittsburg, Texas; sisters of love, Charlotte Edney, Valerie Thomas Byrd, Sharron Briscoe, all of Dallas, Texas; brother of love, Willy Adams of Dallas, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
