Mr. Willie B. Washington was born July 1, 1956 to the parentage of Mr. Macy Washington and Mrs. Margaret ReeDickerson Washington in Douglassville, Cass County, Texas. At an early age, he joined Gum Springs CME Church and attended Douglass High School in Douglassville, Texas.
He married Ms. Sonya Y. White and to this union, no children were born. He enjoyed being a husband to his wife, Sonya.
He loved playing and being around his favorite pet, “Shadow”. Barbecuing was his favorite outdoor cookout.
Mr. Washington passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the Hospice of East Texas, Tyler, Texas. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Sonya Y. Washington of Pittsburg, TX; two daughters, Shemika Kirk of Texarkana, TX; LaShon Whetstone of Douglassville, TX; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three sisters, Mable Swain and Bennie Mitchell of Atlanta, TX; Annie James of Kansas City, KS; three brothers, Raymond Washington of Douglassville, TX; Johnny Washington, Sr. and George Washington of Texarkana, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Macy and Margaret Washington; two brothers, Charles Washington and Robert Washington; two sisters, Martha Warren and Doris Evans.
